New Image Construction started off 2012 like most contracting companies hoping that the economy would turn around. Thanks to our customers 2012 was significantly better than the previous years two years. Work started to pick up in early spring and we were straight out for the rest of the year. Our projects included decks, roofs, additions, kitchens, framing, basements and insurance restoration work.
There is one special project that made 2012 one of our most rewarding years ever. We
helped a Wales Massachusetts family who lost their home and all material items in a devastating fire in late May. To be part of this story and know we helped these people in their time of needs gives me goosebumps every time I think about it. I am truly grateful.
Friends, family and other contractors have suggested that I share this story with others. It is a story with a happy ending in a time when there is so much negativity in our world.
So I am going share the details over the coming weeks in 4 blog posts. In each post you will learn important strategies on how to work with a contractor and properly plan a home remodeling project so you get what you want how you want it. Your thoughts and comments are welcomed.
In the 4 posts we will cover
- Recovering from a devastating fire and dealing with the insurance claim adjuster and and insurance company that doesn’t play fair.
- Designing the new home to meet the families needs and budget using the design build process leading to clear plans and specifications.
- The promise we made to complete the project by Christmas and how we did it in less than 3 months.
- The promise we kept, final completion the week before Christmas and the move in.
Stay tuned for the coming blog posts and we hope you enjoy reading how from the devastation of fire and ashes a special family in Wales gave me the opportunity to help them rebuild their home and lives.
Today as we look forward to a new year we are grateful to our customers who invited us into their homes in 2012 and our friends and wish everyone a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
